* This is South Africa’s oldest netball competition.
* It is the 68th edition of the tournament.
* It will be staged in Bela-Bela for the very first time. It is the second time that the competition takes place in the Limpopo province (the previous being Polokwane in 2005).
* Over the years, a total number of 22 cities/towns played host. The only province yet to present the tournament is, is Mpumalanga. Port Elizabeth with 9 was used as a venue the most times, followed by Pretoria (8), Cape Town and Johannesburg (7 each).
* The last couple of years produced a number of different winners. In 2013 it was Mangaung, 2014 Tshwane, 2015 North West, 2016 the Western Cape, 2017 Gauteng and in 2018 and 2019 Tshwane. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 the competition was contested by provincial teams.
* Since 2010, Gauteng North/Tshwane/Gauteng played in all but one final. That was in 2016 when the Western Cape and the Free battled it out.
* Gauteng North/Tshwane has emerged with the most titles (25). Western Province/Cape Town lifted the trophy 18 times and Boland 12. The last time WP/Cape Town won it, was back in 1996.
* Three teams have won the competition four consecutive times. The last being Gauteng North from 1997 to 2000.
* Out of the previous 11 finals, six of them had a points difference of 13 or more.
* Two of the last three finals were decided in extra time. And on both occasions, the score was 40-all after regular playing time.
* Very few teams were able to win the tournament when it was staged in their home district. In fact, out of 67 tournaments, it only occurred eight times, the last being Eastern Province in Port Elizabeth in 2009.
* Two players, Debbie Hamman (Western Province) and Rosina Mogola (Gauteng North) won the Player of the Tournament three times.
