NSA (Netball South Africa) is the national governing body for the sport of netball in South Africa and administers all aspects of South African netball. Therefore, all appointments are made in line with NSA’s equity commitments. The federation is looking to appoint coaches as listed above on a 2-year appointment (1January 2026 – 31 December 2027).
The positions advertised will assist in ensuring that our national teams are a winning combination and proudly represent all the people of South Africa. Additionally, the Coaches serve as national selectors, collaborate extensively with the NSA High Performance support staff and are key to the world class functioning of the National Teams. The appointed coaches will report to the NSA Director of Coaching. Being in the sport of netball, the role might require extensive travel (both local and international depending on events), extended periods away from home and the ability and willingness to work long hours, over weekends and public holidays where necessary.
The criterion for the appointments is set out below and although not exhaustive, would serve as a guide to assess prospective candidates.
Key job outputs
Minimum Requirements: Matric (post matric qualification will be an added advantage); valid NSA Level 2 or higher; at least 5 years’ netball coaching experience with 3 years of those being coaching at TNL, SPAR Champs, Male Champs, TNC or USSA; Proficiency in English; Computer Literacy.
Duties:
• To coach the designated team at all appropriate competitions.
• Planning, organizing and executing training camps according to the needs and demands of the team.
• Plan and organize trials for talent identification and recruitment of new players for the team.
• Promoting fair play, resolving team issues and mentoring players.
• Be an example to the other technical team members and players to provide a positive atmosphere.
• Provide reports on development of players, matches and tours.
• Deliver a technical and tactical program that will motivate and inspire high performance
• To act as a selector on the National Selection Panels and ensure the teams represents all the people of South Africa and to drive the transformation goals of NSA.
• Assist NSA with player development pathways with reference to the Long-Term Participant Development (LTPD) as per agreement with SASCOC and SRSA.
• Ensure the Teams’ Support Staff manage and execute all initiatives designed to enhance player development and improvement under the guidance of the Head Coaches.
• Provide a report on tour and make recommendations on key learnings from all competitions.
• Perform other reasonable duties as required by NSA, including ad hoc projects.

Comply with NSA Coaches code of conduct, policies rules and regulations of Sport in South Africa and Globally where applicable.
