Facts and Stats for the Males National Netball Championships

• 60 Teams will participate in 2025.
• Ekurhuleni is the defending Senior A champions (2023 and 2024)
• Tshwane A is the U23 (2024) defending champions
• 2024’s tournament will be the biggest to date with over 60 teams competing across a senior A, B and a Under-23 division.
• 67 teams (across 39 districts) (have registered / shown interest?) to compete in 2024.
• Johannesburg has 4 teams, 2 teams in the senior division and 2 teams in the under-23 division
• Ethekwini, Ekurhuleni, Capricorn, Cape Town, Tshwane will (will look to) enter 3 teams each.
• The Males National Championships have been dominated by the districts from KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
• Since 2015, KwaZulu-Natal as province and districts from KZN, has won the Senior A Division the most (6 times): KZN: 2015-2017, eThekwini 2018 and 2022, King Chetswayo 2019.
• No Males National Championships tournament was played in 2020 due to the COVID-10 pandemic.
• Ekurhuleni from Gauteng is the defending champions (2023).
• The Under-23 division was introduced in 2022 to cultivate and develop emerging male talent in the sport.
• Johannesburg will play host to the 2024 Males National Championships (at the Ellis Park Outdoor Courts), the third time since 2015. Previous Gauteng tournaments were held in Esselen Park and Kempton Park.
• Rustenburg, Sun City, Upington, Polokwane, Durban and Paarl have all played hosts to the championships before.
