Netball South Africa Elects New Leadership

Over the past two days, members of the Netball South Africa (NSA) Council convened for a Special Council Meeting (SCM) and the Quadrennial General Meeting (QGM) at the Garden Court Hotel in Kempton Park. These meetings culminated in the election of the federation’s new leadership.

Of the 69 Council Members, 62 were present over the weekend, with representatives from the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) in attendance as observers.

The newly elected Netball South Africa Executive Committee who will serve for the next four years are:

  • Mami Diale (President)
  • Khosi Dlamini (Vice President)
  • Lana Krige (Director: Selections)
  • Dumisani Chauke (Director: Coaches)
  • Claudine Classen (Director: Demarcations and Structures)
  • Magriet Bester (Director: Umpires)

Speaking shortly after being elected as President of Netball South Africa, Mami Diale said:

“Firstly, I would like to thank the Council Members for demonstrating such confidence in me and electing me as their new leader for the next five years. A big thank you also to all members who nominated me — this is no small feat, and I am truly honoured.

Now that the elections are concluded, the real work begins. I have full confidence that the new leadership of Netball South Africa is ready and capable to continue with the business of the day and the work that lies ahead.

We cannot be oblivious to what has happened in the past; we now need to begin the work of restoration, rebuilding, and renewal. We must be intentional about doing the right thing, safeguarding our sport, and reclaiming its dignity. Time is a luxury we do not have — we need to hit the ground running.”

Diale was elected Vice President during the 2021 elections and has been serving as the Acting President of the organisation since April 2025.

Netball South Africa extends its sincere gratitude to the outgoing Executive Committee Members for their service and dedication during their tenure and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.
