It is with deep sadness that Netball South Africa confirms the untimely passing of North West Netball President Kutlwano Granny Moroole on Monday, 6th July 2026.
Granny, as she was affectionately known, was a true servant of the sport. She was a former player, ex-Chairperson of Bojanala Netball, and also served as a team manager for the North West Flames at some point. At the time of her passing, she was the President of North West Netball and a Netball South Africa Council Member.
“We are deeply saddened to learn about Granny’s passing – we feel a great sense of loss because we lost a true servant of the sport. At this, we would like to send our deepest and most sincere condolences to the Moroole family at large – your loss is our loss, and we are with you in great pain during this time. As a federation and netball community, we mourn the loss of one of the best we had. We will celebrate her legacy and the contribution she made to the game. No words can ever express nor articulate the pain we are all feeling,” said Mami Diale, Netball South Africa President.
At this particular time, the federation urges the netball community to give the family the much-needed support and space required as they prepare to lay their loved one to rest.
