Netball South Africa Parades Netball Friday Merchandise

With just 300 days to go before the first centre pass at the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, Netball South Africa launched the Road to Sydney Campaign and Netball Friday initiative.

Mall of Africa’s Crystal Court was a hive of activity on Friday with government officials, sponsors, netball players and members of the media in attendance as they came to witness the unveiling of the 2027 Netball Friday merchandise.

Netball South Africa President Mami Diale said “today is an important day for us as a federation because we are sending a very clear message, we need the country to rally behind the SPAR Proteas as they prepare for the 2027 Netball World Cup. The support we have been getting needs to grow as we build up to and during the World Cup in Sydney. The team will be busy in 2027 participating in different competition in preparation for the World Cup and we will need the whole country behind our girls during this time, we know what they can achieve, they know what they can do and we believe that it will mean a lot to them knowing that millions of South Africans in country and other parts of the world are with them. The launch of Netball Friday with 300 days to go is a clear call to action – RALLY BEHIND THE SPAR PROTEAS, and we need everyone to get their merchandise and support the team for the next 44 weeks leading up to Sydney.”  To our communities, let every Friday be a SPAR Protea Friday, wear the t-shirt to school, to work, to the malls and show our girls that the nation stands with them – Wear your netball fanwear every Friday

The morning was filled with festivities and some of the SPAR Proteas players stopped running on court for a bit as they took the runway and modelled some of the Netball Friday merchandise that was on display on the day. We believe in youth empowerment, Netball South Africa had partnered with STADIO Higher Education in Centurion, and this saw some of their fashion students assist with creative direction of the fashion show on the day.

Fans can buy their merchandise online via Netball South Africa’s e-commerce site
