The Golden Fireballs reflect on an unbeaten Power Week 1.
1. What were some of the key takeaways or standout moments for your side during Power Week 1?
One of the key takeaways was just how physically demanding Power Week 1 was. To make it through, having a full squad of 12 players is essential. We’re fortunate to have 12 incredibly capable and talented individuals—each ready to step up when needed. That’s a huge advantage, and we don’t take it for granted.
2. What lessons has your team taken from the opening matches that you’re hoping to build on?
We learned the importance of starting strong, capitalising on opportunities, and closing games with sharp, clinical netball—even under pressure.
3. Was there a particular match, moment or player during Power Week 1 that really stood out for you?
Our final match against the Flames stood out. Our bodies were tired, and they played really good netball, so we had to rely on pure grit and teamwork to pull through.
A player who stood out was Sammy—watching her lift her game and carry the team was incredible. We’re super proud of her.
4. What is the team focusing on as you prepare for Power Week 2?
We want to stay consistent and build on our own game. The tournament is still long, and while we had a good first week, there’s still a lot to work on. We’re staying focused.
5. How do you manage the physical and mental demands of the league, particularly during intense Power Week fixtures?
By Power Week, the hard work should already be done. Preparation is key—if you’ve trained hard and stayed disciplined, your body and mind are ready. Training should be tougher than game time.
6. What role are your team’s experienced players playing in mentoring younger or newer team members?
We lead through our actions and hard work. Our team is full of leaders—from juniors to seniors. Everyone learns from one another, and we see each other as equals.
7. What are you and your team most looking forward to in the next block of fixtures?
We’re excited to keep building momentum and face teams for the second time. It’s a chance to show our growth and consistency.
8. Message to your fans?
Thank you for your incredible support! Winning all our matches so far has been amazing, but we know this is just the beginning. We’re ready to keep pushing and make you proud in Power Week 2!
