A successful Team Manager must demonstrate:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fostering a positive, disciplined, and respectful team culture.
  2. Establishing clear communication channels with players, coaching staff, and stakeholders.
  3. Managing team budgets and resources during camps and competitions.
  4. Representing the team at official meetings.
  5. Coordinating training camps with the coaching staff.
  6. Preparing daily programmes/run sheets for training and competition.
  7. Making sound decisions and resolving challenges promptly.
  8. Ensuring teams comply with all arrangements, protocols, and competition requirements.
  9. Ensuring adherence to NSA’s Code of Conduct, social media Policy, and sponsorship obligations.
  10. Understanding team personalities and managing interpersonal dynamics effectively.
  11. Overseeing all logistics (travel, accommodation, kit, equipment, etc.) with the relevant NSA staff.
  12. Managing all administrative requirements of the team.
  13. Liaising with management and players on all matters relating to team participation.
  14. Attending all training sessions.
  15. Issuing regular communication and updates to team members.
  16. Coordinating equipment needs with the coaching staff.
  17. Serving as the primary point of contact between the team and NSA.

QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must demonstrate:

  1. Proven experience in sports management/administration and/or Team management (preferably in netball) and be a registered member of Netball South Africa.
  2. Should have been a manager at Provincial and national championships
  3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Basic financial management knowledge (budget planning).
  6. Understanding of the game and basic rules interpretation.
  7. Technological proficiency (Excel, Word).
  8. Sound knowledge of email etiquette.
  9. Understanding of sponsorship and social media protocols.
  10. Strong time-management skills.
  11. Report-writing ability.
  12. Strong organisational and logistical abilities.
  13. Valid safeguarding certification.
  14. Basic First Aid qualification.
  15. Knowledge of anti-doping principles.
  16. Understanding of transformation principles.
  17. A cell phone and laptop are mandatory.
