Telkom Netball League
The Premier Netball League is the top level netball league featuring South African teams. It was formed in 2014, organised by Netball South Africa. Between 2014 and 2018, the league was known as the Brutal Fruit Netball Cup, due to sponsorship and naming rights arrangements. Since 2019, the league has been sponsored by Telkom and is widely known as the Telkom Netball League. In 2014, the Free State Crinums, while the Gauteng Jaguars have won six titles, making them the league’s most successful team. The league features two divisions and uses a promotion and relegation format. The winners of the Division Two Shield can gain promotion to Division One by winning a play off.
The Telkom Netball League (TNL) showcases South Africa’s netball talent with coaches and scouts frequently in attendance. The 2024 edition of TNL was played in Johannesburg’s iconic Ellis Park Arena, from the 1st of April to the 19th of June. Sixteen teams from across the country compete for the championship title, supported by a wide fan base that is afforded easy access to the tournament through low cost tickets.
The Telkom Netball League boasts an impressive roster of partners, including the Departments of Sports, Arts and Culture (national and provincial), Telkom, Spar, Energade, Discovery, Puma, SuperSport, Renault, Hollywoodbets, Southern Sun, the National Lotteries Commission, SASCOC, and Gilbert Netball. These partners are united in their commitment to propelling netball forward and providing opportunities for talented athletes.
